Montgomery Duo

Ruth Montgomery (flautist) and Roger Montgomery (Guitar), daughter and father duo have been playing for a number of years but the name Flute Guitar Duo was formalised when Ruth returned to Essex after graduating from the Royal Welsh College of Music and drama in 2005.  Ruth has performed in various situations as a soloist, recitalist and chamber musician. Her performing highlights were in December 2005 when she travelled to St.Petersburg, Moscow and London playing the flute as soloist, - a concerto with the Royal Philharmonic, St Petersburg Philharmonic and the Moscow Symphony Orchestras with the Music of Life foundation. She occasionally presents music programmes for BBC television.  She continues to perform regularly especially at selected recitals and weddings.

Experienced guitarist Roger has played with various ensembles both at home and abroad. He recently played with The Hertfordshire Guitar Orchestra in Mainz and with Ruth in Paris. The nylon-strung classical guitar is his instrument and he enjoys playing music of all styles from classical to the less formal Latin and jazz styles and his own compositions and arrangements.
